Buffalo Check Mackinaw Wool Cap

This hat was first developed in 1903 by a seamstress whose husband complained about the wind. As an engineer, he worked on a train, so every time he stuck his head out to see where he was headed, the wind blew his cap off. His wife got tired of the tales of lost accessories, so re-stitched one of his baseball caps with a tie top visor that could be tightened, helping it to stay put.
The design of this hat remains unchanged over a hundred years later, with the superior insulation and moisture-wicking qualities of wool, the tie top visor that keeps the hat tight, and the hidden flaps that pull down over the ears to keep them warm.
The hat shouldn't require much care, but if you want to clean it, make sure to get it dry cleaned.
To fit the hat properly, first measure your head. Really, just take a loose measuring tape and wrap it around the top part of your head. The hats are sized in inches, so be sure to choose one that will fit snug for maximum warmth.
To use the ear flaps, put the hat on and pull down on the flap just above where your ears are.
