A nice camera deserves a nice strap. Unfortunately, those that come included with a new SLR camera are usually a small let down. Even if you’re sure it’s going to hold, the neoprene aesthetic somehow doesn't live up to the ambition you have for your shots.
Roberu have been making premium quality, hand-crafted leather and canvas straps for four years, the latest being this naturally tanned leather beauty, specially designed for use with heavy, single lens reflex (SLR) cameras.
The wide leather shoulder strap feels strong and comfortable on the neck, and can be adjusted to four custom lengths. Drape over the shoulder or wear around your neck. The strap has a five kilogram endurance capacity, enough for the heaviest SLR camera. The vintage look and feel that comes with premium leather is, of course, a serious upshot.
As with any real leather product, this is strong stuff, and will continue to look as good as new provided the right care is taken. Avoid wet weather and humid or high-temperature conditions. Clean using a little soap and water - just don’t get it soaked for prolonged periods. Because this is a natural product, color variations and “scratches” may be present.
Manufactured in Roberu’s Yokohama workshop, the leather is stained with camel dye and natural vegetable tannin. The backside of the shoulder pad is made from calf leather, the youth of the hide making for a pleasant, smooth grip on the neck and shoulder. Hand-dyed and hand-stitched, with a chrome buckle, even the embossed logo adds to the vintage look and classic feel that emerges fresh from the factory drawing board.
