Soup’s bubbling, and it’s almost ready to serve. Where’s the ladle? Don’t drive yourself crazy rummaging through a tangled mess in your kitchen drawer. When dealing with piping hot liquid, it's best to keep cool, calm, and collected. Just look to this utensil rack – everything you need is hanging within reach.

Made in Austria by a company that's been around since 1550 (around the time when, among other things, the city of Helsinki was founded). Originally welders of steel pans, the company turned their focus to making porcelain enamelware some eighty years ago. Forged at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, Austrian steel and glass come together and form this non-porous, smooth, and tough-as-nails enamel with a naturally glossy finish.

Use & Care

Screw into the wall horizontally. Once the rack is up, hang any sort of ladle or kitchen implement from it (enamelware looks best). And if the rack gets dirty? Wipe it clean. Done.

Production & Design

Only natural, abundantly available raw materials are used for enameling this rack (namely glass, a potassium compound, and metal oxide).

To carry out the high-heat enameling, the Austrian company uses 100 percent renewable power. Their products are made at 1500°C, having built three of their own hydroelectric power stations that allow them to use only green electricity. This saves 4,600 tons of carbon dioxide and 3.6 tons of sulfur oxide and sulfur dioxide from ever being created and released into the atmosphere. The construction of their drying and burning facilities also allows them to use and reuse the heat they generate for three different purposes.

And although you’ll never want to throw one away, it’s nice to know that they’re 100 percent recyclable.
