This sturdy corer makes making an apple pie as easy as — well, pie. The single-piece, stainless steel handle fits comfortably in the hand and the serrated teeth give you a quick way in, making the task easier and faster, an important consideration whether you’re working your way through a bushel or just preparing an afternoon snack.
Easy to clean and dishwasher-safe.
Squeeze handles together,
insert into stem or blossom end of the apple, and push through, twisting if
necessary. Clean after use, either by hand or in a dishwasher.
GEFU made the first food
mill in 1943. The company, located in Eslohe, Germany, started out selling a
stainless steel potato peeler, graters, presses, and colanders, and has since
expanded to 280 kitchen tools, sold in 47 countries worldwide. And each one of
those products GEFU designs with daily use and high performance in mind. The
company’s design process begins with questions — how to improve the experience
of certain kitchen tasks, how to make a tool more effective — and its product
engineers work with an independent design firm to find the answers. GEFU then
works with a separate firm to extensively test all their products in terms of
materials, food safety, personal safety, and user friendliness.
