Crown Butchers twine is made for cooking. Unlike so-called kitchen twines, it is made from only 100 percent unbleached cotton and approved by the FDA for food use. The individual threads run the entire length of the cord, so it is uniform and strong. Unlike twines made from other materials it will never melt in the oven or shed stray fibers onto the dinner plates of you and your guests.

The reason you truss a chicken or tie a roast is to ensure even cooking. When any roast, be it a chicken or a roast of beef or pork, is not trussed, the chef risks uneven cooking, which can cause parts of the roast to be dry and overdone.

Use & Care

Will stand up to most kitchen applications. Avoid open flames.

Made for trussing roasts, tying a bouquet ganri, or tying cheesecloth when making cheese. Great in the back yard for trellising tomatoes, beans, and morning glories.

Crown twines are produced by A & A Line Corp. a company based just down the road from our offices in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They have been producing all sorts of cordage since 1963.
