Unique, pocket-ready snippers engineered and assembled with great care to fold and unfold easily.
Foldable blades means there are no sharp edges sticking out waiting for you to bump into a table and hurt yourself, and the stainless steel model endures an intense heating process so it will never rust, corrode, break or bend. This pair also come without separate handles for a sleek and un-clunky feel. Useful in hundreds of ways, whether you're on the trail or back at home. These scissors come with an unconditional lifetime guarantee.
To Open: Pull the handles apart and fold the scissors into the cutting position.
To Close: Use the reverse process. Fold the blades back into the grooved safety slots in the handles and push together.
There are no particular care instructions for the scissors, which are cut from stainless steel and guaranteed for life. In the instance that there are signs of wear or dullness, the scissors can be sent back and replaced with a brand new pair.
Ed Sealander's son was working as a medic in the service when he got the idea for folding scissors. He was trying to dress soldiers out in the field and needed scissors that were easier and more useful to carry. He and his dad started the company, and Ed took the business for several years, then sold it to Don Gallogly in 1985, who acted as the single-handed marketer and salesman of this foldable multi-purpose tool.
The scissors are put together by the hands of trained craftsmen within the small, 3-person business. A grinder operator punches the blades and puts a hole where the rivet holds it together. Then each pair is sent to Portland to be heat-treated. The blades are put on large racks so they won’t bend, and when they get back to Sweet Home, they’re ground and individually tested to ensure quality and cut.
