Stainless Steel Vegetable Peeler
Flat, stainless steel peeler works on vegetables, fruits and hard cheeses, among other foods. Side scoop at the top useful for removing potato eyes. Stainless steel body offers a firm grip. Made in Switzerland. (
Peeling vegetables may seem like a common sense task, but there is a right and wrong way to go about it. The flat peeler beats the vertical peeler in ease of use, allowing you to tilt your fruit or vegetable and make fast downward strokes towards your table surface. The wider blade peels a larger surface at one time, making for a faster grate.
Use & Care
Grate chocolate and hard cheese, peel carrots and potatoes for stew, or apples for that famous pie. Use the scoop remover on the side to take out potato eyes. The peeler is easy to hand wash with soap and water.
Production & Design
The Swiss manufacturing company that makes these peelers is known for its trademark of products with a simple and genial design. The company has been passed down in the family for 60 years, and each peeler is made by hand among its small team of 11 skilled employees. The steel of the peelers has been hardened and blued and offers the sharpest blade on the market.
This particular peeler is the famous device that was sold on New York City street corners from 1993-2009 by Joe Ades, the Potato Peeler Peddler.
