Handmade Montrose Wooden Comb
7.5" handmade wooden comb has two kinds of teeth for medium and thicker hair. Wood eliminates static electricity because it doesn't conduct, and the smooth wooden teeth don't pull or break hair causing split ends. Handmade from local hornbeam hardwood in Germany. (more info)

The major difference between a finely-made comb and any other type of grooming device is measured by the ease the combs slide through the hair and how much less breakage there is. But since the advent of plastics, wooden comb-making has become all but obsolete. Wood does not conduct, so static electricity can be eliminated from the morning routine, as well as any painful or sharp experiences with comb teeth. The ends of these wood combs are slightly curved and blunted, so they massage the scalp. Wooden combs do not strip vital oils from the hair or stretch and break hair ends.

The comb does well with nourishment from the natural oils in your hair. You really don't need to clean it. However, if you feel you must, just use a little bit of soap and water and be sure not to leave the comb submerged in water.
Four generations of comb makers cut the teeth of these combs with a 120 year old comb-maker machine from England, using only local hardwoods. After each comb is cut, the teeth are mechanically cleaned to ensure very smooth, precise teeth. There is no wax or oil applied to finish the combs so the wood is as natural and fine as possible for the hair.
