Kerosene lanterns have been the companions of adventurers, excavators, railway men, scouts, and campers for decades. With their warm, steady glow and classic upright shape, a kerosene lantern is just the thing for illuminating a tent, garden, patio, or tabletop. The reliability and portability of this particular model makes it ideal for use at home, in the wilderness, or during times of emergency.
Having been produced since 1902, the German design of this lantern has been perfected over the past century. A specially developed burner element means that there is no flickering and sooting from the flame, while a thorough sealing treatment inside the tank means there is no risk for leakage. The thermal heat-resistant borosilicate glass globe will not crack even when exposed to rain or snow, making this lantern ideal for use in any type of extreme weather situation. It includes a long top carrying bale and self-venting hood, and features no sharp edges whatsoever.
Sturdy and durable, with a reassuring weight in the hand, this is a lantern that deserves a place both in your emergency kit and in your everyday life.
Use & Care
These lanterns are designed to run on kerosene fuel, but they will work with any other cool-burning lamp fuel. A freshly filled tank will give you approximately twenty hours of burn time.
To light the lantern, raise the chimney using the built-in lifting mechanism and use a match or lighter to ignite the wick. Lower the chimney and adjust the flame to the desired height.
Production & Design
These heavy-duty lanterns have been crafted in Germany since the 1902. Today, this company is the last remaining producer of original kerosene lanterns in the Western hemisphere. Made of high-grade 0.3mm sheet steel and hardened wire, these lanterns are completely tin-plated, then either left in their natural state or painted in bright, bold baked-on lacquer.
