Traditions pepper the holiday season, and gathering together is at the center of it all. This doormat welcomes people into your home before they ever step inside.

Put together by a small family business in Vermont, the idea for the mat came from folks who spend a lot of time outdoors, and really get their feet dirty. Instead of a flimsy, bristly mat that gets rough around the edges and won't endure repetitive boot-scraping, this mat has been fitted together with ash wood of sustainably harvested white pine trees, a sturdy, resinous material that can take care of all you might bring home from the trail or barn. Against the corners and edges of the mat, you can scrape thick dirt, stones and other media right off without concern about rips or tears. The palmyra bristle brush helps out with extra scraping for truly mucky boots.

Ideal for entryways, decks, patios, showers, hot tubs and saunas. Stomp your feet to remove extra dirt and stones, and use the brush for whatever else needs scraping.

Production & Design

Particular functional features of the slats (width, spacing, orientation, and location) are essential to optimize the effectiveness of a wooden doormat. The slats are 3/4" wide with 3/4" spacing, oriented at a 45 degree angle (like the teeth on a hand file) and located above the surface on which the doormat sets. These features best enable dirt, sand, mud, pebbles, water and snow to be effectively scraped off of shoes and boots and pass down through the slats.

The manufacturer has been making these doormats for 26 years, using only sustainably harvested eastern pine wood, a long-lasting resinous wood. All nails - 100 of which are used in each mat - are made of galvanized steel for superior strength.
