Postalco Wall Calendar
One year paper wall calendar. Shows every day for every month in the year 2013, with a line for each day to make a brief note. Helps make elusive time visible. Made in Japan. (more info)
When you think of making plans for the next year, it's easy to get lost in the time you can't actually see. Pocket, desk and digital calendars will only display one month at a time, making it challenging to see time as real. But this wall calendar, which lays out each day of the year all at once, makes it easy to look ahead. Or as Postalco puts it, it "makes elusive time visible."
Postalco Notebooks are made entirely in Japan, the paper made from boiled natural fibers and formed into thin, smoothly textured paper. This texture makes it an ideal writing surface to pencil in your plans. The paper is also pH-neutral, meaning that it will not yellow over time.
Instead of chopping up time into months or weeks, this calendar allows you to step back and see it altogether, maybe allowing you to use time the way you'd like. Each day has just enough space to write a brief note, and at the bottom of each month there are more lines for reminders, for plans and ideas that don't fit into a particular day.
Tack it up on the wall and start making plans. This is your year.
Currently based in Tokyo, Postalco originated in Brooklyn, New York. Husband-and-wife team, Mike and Yuri Abelson — a product designer and a graphic designer, respectively — began with a love of the international transport of mail and Japanese craftsmanship. This soon evolved into an exploration of the beauty of paper, with its smooth texture and tangible warmth, and their skills and fancies converged seamlessly into Postalco. Their current store is in the 4th floor of a quiet building in a low-key Tokyo neighborhood, a location befitting their understated, clean sense of style.
Mike and Yuri work closely with the craftsmen who make their goods, discussing every stitch and fold in the construction of their notebooks, envelopes and wallets, with workers who are just as obsessed with quality as the designers.
Postalco notebook paper is ecologically made, pH-balanced and chlorine-free.
