Driving after a snowstorm is guaranteed to make you happy – yes, happy – if you have the right gear. This brush is made in Germany from waxed beechwood and coconut fibers, which have long been used in the manufacturing of outdoor brushes for their resistance to water.

The long handle on the brush offers a nice far reach across a car roof, or for dusting exterior walls. The bristles, made of “coir” the other name for coconut fibre material, is the same stuff of ropes and other cordage. The fibres are light with a high lignon content, making the fibre resilient, strong and highly durable.

The brush is made by a family of brushmakers in Germany.

Use & Care

To care for the coir bristles, first shake the brush to remove any large pieces of dirt. (Do not whack the brush against a firm surface, it may cause the handle to crack.)

Vacuum the bristles with a suction brush to remove finer sediment and extend the life of the coconut fibers.

Production & Design

When Friedrich Redecker "senior" became blind at the age of four, he was enrolled in the Soest school for the blind. An operation wasn't really an option for him at the time, and at Soest he began training for handcrafting brushes, standard training for the blind. Lucky for Redecker, as this became a lifelong passion, influencing him to create Bürstenhaus Redecker. They are known as one of the last producers of hand-crafted brushes in Germany and have been in business for over seventy-five years. The large majority of their products range in different types of brushes- from hat brushes, to clothes brushes, to this laptop brush (and everything inbetween)-but they also offer beautiful wooden articles, such as the olive wood kitchen utensils.

Each product is tested by every member of the Redecker family, as well as its employees. They won't budge when it comes to using natural, renewable resources, and think their philosophy of sustainability should flow into every other crevice of the world.
