Wood Slingshot

Buckthorn came from Europe in the 1800s to Minnesota, where it is an invasive species and has been declared by the state’s Department of Natural Resources to be a restricted noxious weed. Removal is an important job undertaken by local community service groups, and the trees are cut down to stumps and painted to prevent regrowth. The branches are reclaimed to make the slingshot.

Great for launching seed bombs. Avoid extended exposure to the sun, as this will cause the natural latex tubing to degrade.

Bill Pine started his company, The Original Tree Swing, in September 2009, and launched the eponymous first product from his garage. He continues to make most of the products himself, with some help from family. Pine strives to minimize the environmental impact of his company, making all his toys from reclaimed wood and natural and non-toxic materials.

Because the slingshot is made from naturally occurring materials, color and dimensions may vary.
