Leather Toothpick Holder
Handmade leather case for holding toothpicks. Available in Black, Tan, and Chestnut. American top-grain leather, handstitched in Minnesota. (
Beatniks, bodybuilders, greasers, hippies, new agers, cosplayers. Our society has never had a shortage of fascinating subcultures, but perhaps you’ve not yet heard of this particular group: toothpick chewers and carriers. This Minnesota-based leather company has created a special product for this not-so-secret society, and now you can initiate yourself by getting your very own handmade leather toothpick holder.
All leather products from this family-run enterprise are top grain, meaning they’re made from the outermost skin of the animal and the highest quality leather available on the market, all sourced from tanneries within the United States. The leather is hand-stitched with nylon thread and trimmed with thread burn (burned in order to melt the thread) to ensure a final seal that will last forever without fear of fraying. The leather toothpick holder comes with twelve flat wood toothpicks, after which it can be replenished with the toothpick type of your choosing.
Use & Care
Avoid contact with water, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions if possible. If exposed to any of these elements, use a soft washcloth to rub leather polish onto the surface of the wallet as desired.
The toothpick holder will age beautifully over time, developing a unique patina through the years.
Production & Design
This family-run leather workshop consists of husband and wife Kent O'Mally and Lee Begnaud, their 4th son Nathan and two interns. Kent began his long, storied career in leather working during the 1970s. In the 1990s, when all the factories were moving to China, including the one he worked for, he decided to branch out on his own and create a leather company that manufactured every part of their products in the United States.
This leather toothpick holder was Kent's idea, when he first began developing the family business thirteen years ago. He was constantly noticing people chewing and carrying toothpicks, and wanted to create a smart looking container for this purpose. Lee thought it was a silly idea, but consented to Kent's whim. Now, in addition to wallets, belts and more, this handmade leather toothpick holder is one of their best sellers.
