Kaweco Sport Aluminum Ballpoint Pen
Sturdy and stout, the pen fits nicely in your hand and in your pocket. Made with a black aluminum body that's lightweight but has the presence of an anvil on your desk. Assembled in Germany. (
Since 1883 Kaweco has been pairing expert knowledge with painstaking process to develop writing instruments aimed at no less than perfection. This stout and sturdy ballpoint fits comfortably in the hand and writes wonderfully, gliding along the paper with a perceptible level of smoothness.
Whether we’re talking about writing a book, doodling a picture, taking notes or making a grocery list, any person knows the feeling of a good ballpoint pen. It feels right in the hand and when put to paper it almost seems to make its own course.
The Kaweco Sport is made by experts who have been hard at work in the writing instrument business for over 125 years in Heidelberg, Germany, where steel work and mechanics are taken very seriously. Acutely balanced for the hand, it writes with a silky, streamlined quality that is just a soft thumb click away.
Made of aluminum with a steel tip and refillable with high quality metal-cased cartridges full of blue or black ink that writes wet and dries instantly.
Use & Care
Slip it in your pocket or inside your coat and you're ready to go. The heart-curve mechanism makes use of a dropping ball for near silent switching, none of that loud clicking noise when you're pulling the pen out or putting it away.
Ballpoint pens are small but they last a long time. When the time comes for a new cartridge, they're available in blue or black. To replace an ink cartridge just unscrew the pen, slide the cartridge in, and you're off again.
Production & Design
Ballpoint pens are so ubiquitous it's easy to take them for granted, but a good one is like a trusted accomplice. Just over a hundred years ago, we were stuck dipping fancy sticks into messy wells of ink or running around with blotchy stains on our pockets.
Technology went from a quill dipped in ink, to dry pen dipped in ink, to fountain pen, and when the ballpoint came along it was something altogether different. The method for releasing the ink was more complicated. The ballpoint tip took fifty years to perfect, and it was worth it.
Begun as a pen-dipping firm in 1883, Kaweco has embraced worthy pen technologies since the beginning.
