Whole Green Cardamom Seed
The aromatics of green cardamom give pastries a lift, heighten marinades, enlighten curries, and give an extra snap to cocktails. (
These pods contain the seeds of Elettaria, a perennial bush that grows wild in the rainforests of southern India. Known as the queen of spices in the Middle East, North Africa, and, um, Scandinavia, it’s the most highly revered cardamom above brown and Madagascar cardamom.
Green cardamom's refreshing quality is an indicator of its healing properties, which aid digestion, have a cooling effect, improve respiratory circulation, and detoxify the body of caffeine (which is probably why it is the chief flavoring in Indian Chai).
Use & Care
A little goes a long way with this uplifting spice. One pod is usually all you need, whether shaken into a daiquiri or ground and laced into cupcakes. The pods are best left whole until usage, as their complex flavor deteriorates quickly after being ground.
Production & Design
The pods are picked by hand, cured, and sealed shortly after processing to protect freshness. No chemicals or MSG never ever, Whole Spice have long been dedicated to spreading the gospel of good herbs and spices.
