Three Stars Colored Champagne Chalk
An assortment of deeply pigmented, dust-free chalk made from the natural chalk deposits in Champagne, France. Made by a 130-year-old company in Scwabach, Germany. (
A beautiful spectrum of colors. The chalk works for when you’re making lists, outlining a hop scotch board, coloring in a killer chalkboard pie chart, or drawing an elaborate trompe-l’oeil in a public square.
The chalk is dust-free so you won't be coughing it up if you end up drawing too furiously. Unlike most commercial chalks, these sticks are made from natural calcium carbonate deposits from Champagne, France. It’s the same stuff as the region’s wine caves, and the White Cliffs of Dover.
The assorted box has one white stick and the rest are tinted: dark blue, light blue, green, light green, pink, orange, yellow, red, cream, tan, and brown.
Three Stars (or Drei Sterne in German), has been making chalk for 130 years.
Use & Care
Thin, round chalk makes finer lines than big, stout sidewalk chalk, but the concept is still the same, it leaves a thin, loose layer of itself on gritty surfaces. Use this chalk where ever you want.
Great for writing and making lists on chalkboard, or drawing barnyard animals on the sidewalk.
Erasing depends more on the surface than on the chalk, use a chalkboard eraser or a damp cloth for chalkboards and chalk paint. Let stomping feet erase chalk lines on sidewalk.
Production & Design
Generations of German school children have grown up with Three Stars chalk. The company was started by one Anton Franz Moertel in 1870, and five generations later, Three Stars is still owned by his great-great grandchildren.
With 130 years of experience behind them, Three Stars has mastered the art of making reliable, consistent, high quality chalk.
