That inexpensive plastic clipboard won't help at all when it cracks down the middle, its clip breaks off and your papers go flying. Aluminum products like this are as much about your sanity as they are about quality.
These clipboards are made from recycled aluminum. What happens at the end of a product's life—its recycling or disposal—is only one part of the sustainability equation. Just as relevant are how effeciently it is made as well as the durability of the product over a lifetime. The use of aluminum as a replacement for plastic and steel has been the subject of many experiments in car and rail manufacturing for its startling greenhouse gas emission reductions.
The aluminum clipboard is an example of how even office supplies can look good and reduce trash in the world.
Use & Care
Most commonly found in the construction and manufacturing work environment, the aluminum clipboard has found its way into the office space of anyone who wants supplies that can withstand some abuse and still remain functional. Whether you're a construction worker, a canvasser, a teacher or a photographer, you choose an aluminum clipboard versus a plastic one because you want it to last.
Production & Design
The manufacturer uses a mix of post-consumer and post-industrial aluminum for a 96% recycled content in their products, for which future recycling is also possible. The binders are cut and put together by hand.
